OIL BOILERS
For those homes that are not connected to the UK’s gas network, an oil-powered central heating system is an alternative way to heat your home. An oil central heating system works in a similar way to a gas-powered system but uses an oil-fired boiler to heat water, providing central heating via radiators and hot water through the taps.
The main difference between the two systems is that you will need to have your oil supply delivered and stored in a tank, and you will need to remember to order your oil in plenty of time before you run out!
It is generally accepted that oil is a more efficient fuel than gas, so you will get a good return on each unit of energy. However, like gas, the price of oil continues to rise steadily.
